Really great app; just needs a few tweaks
After much searching, I’ve settled on Reeder as the best RSS reader for me. It is attractive, flexible, and feature-rich, and I use it every day.
There are a few things that keep this from being 5 stars for me: the way to structure and search your feeds could be more intuitive; after every update I have to swap out the ugly Soviet-looking icon for something I can stand looking at; I wish for more options for the interface; etc. But overall this is the best compromise of usability, features, and attractiveness I’ve found in a newsreader—highly recommended.
The Full Text/Mercury Reader function is invaluable
Love this app. Rich, flexible yet clean. Clicking the dimly lit (should be more obvious) mercury reader button on the bottom right corner allows you to see a full text version of the article in Reeder rather than having to link to the web. So much easier, cleaner and faster. Good layout and visuals with a lot of options. Works very well. Well worth the $.
Would prefer more contrast between read and unread topics in the list but that’s a minor issue.
still the best
I've used Reeder for years and it remains the best RSS reader for the Mac.
